Quarry Hill Park ski trails were also packed and groomed today.  Much the same results as Essex.  "B" skis or rock skis recommended.  Not enough snow to set a classic track.

Essex Park was packed and groomed today. No classic track as too little snow for that. Base is thin, so probably best to use your rock skis.

Quarry Hill was groomed yesterday (Sunday) about sunset.  Trails were in better shape than Saturday, so the base is improving.  Still, there are some deep soft areas on hills -- I got stuck twice trying to go up a hill with knives active.  And there are a couple of spots that are melting off already, particularly south-facing open slopes..

Conditions should be good today, and probably tomorrow too.  Skate is very good, classic is great, except here and there where grass pokes through.

Essex in great shape with a  medium skate deck and classic tracks set.

55th street trails have been set aside due to city parks lumbering plans.

Quarry Hill was rolled Friday night, again Saturday morning, and then groomed.  The snow is still pretty soft for skating, but classic is excellent.  It's deep enough that rocks and sticks are completely covered -- maybe not for race skis, but you can safely use good skis.

We'll groom again Saturday evening, and again Sunday evening.  With luck, the snow will firm up and skiing will be decent till Wednesday's heat and rain, at least.

    ROCK or B skis.

Gamehaven:  not groomed .  Trails will be packed beginning Monday.  Expect decent skiing on the trails east of the new parking lot (about 5.5 Km) .  Trails on top and to the west are very wind blown, and rough in spots, so will deteriorate rapidly with climbing temps.  Access is from the new parking lot off of 50th street sw.  The road is open.
