RNST Ski Races 2018-2019
Essex Park Time Trial - Monday, February 18, 2019
Sunny skies, 15 degree temps, and great snow conditions greeted the Rochester Nordic Ski Team at the Essex Park trail system as skiers arrived for the team time trial. The 67 skiers raced a challenging 5.5 km course traversing most of the Essex Park trail system. The constant rolling hills and somewhat slow snow conditions resulted in many tired skiers at the end of the race. Congratulations to all of the skiers showing their determination to make it across that finish line!
Winona 5K Skate Race - Friday, February 1, 2019
The Rochester Nordic Ski Team headed to the St. Mary's ski trails in Winona on Friday, February 1. The 34 Rochester skiers participated in the 5.2K skate races with teams from Winona and Minneapolis Washburn. The polar vortex finally moved out of Minnesota, and skiers were able to enjoy relatively mild temps of almost 15 degrees. With the 7 inches of snow received earlier in the week, there was plenty of snow on the trails - but the conditions were quite soft with plenty of sugar snow on those hills! With the course using one of the most difficult layout options, the skiers worked very hard winding their way through the hilly woods. All of the skiers deserve a hearty congratulations for their perseverance in completing a tough race. Also, it was great to see the Rochester glitter gals and guys out on the course!

Rochester Nordic Ski Invitational - Saturday, January 26, 2019
A timely 5" snowfall earlier in the week covered the icy track and provided good conditions for the Rochester Nordic Ski Invite. A cold temp of 4 degrees and an inch of fluffy snow greeted the 114 skiers as they arrived at the Eastwood Golf Course. The skiers from Red Wing, Rochester, and Winona quickly warmed up as they raced the 5.4K trail on the golf course and a section of the woods trail.
