Redwing Race - Saturday, February 20, 2021
Despite cold temps of 0 degrees greeting skiers as they arrived at the Mississippi National Golf Links in Red Wing, the 62 Rochester skiers were excited to get on the course to warm up for their 2nd race of the ski season. Thankfully with sunny skies and calm winds, the temps rose to 12 degrees by the race start time making for very nice conditions - especially compared to the polar vortex conditions earlier in the week. Skiers from Red Wing and Chippewa Valley Nordic (Eau Claire) joined the RNST skiers in a 6K freestyle race on an expertly groomed course. Most skiers felt the highlight of the course was the .7km climb in the 2nd half of the course! First year skiers had a 3.3 km option which skipped the long climb - much to their chagrin.

Eastwood Time Trial - Thursday, January 21, 2021
After a slow start to the snow season, the Rochester Nordic Ski Team finally was able to conduct a ski race. A 4.5K freestyle time trial was held at the Eastwood Golf Course ski trail with a 2.0K option for first year skiers. Comfortable 30 degree temps were somewhat tempered by the 25mph winds blowing across the open golf course. Nonetheless, 115 skiers had a very enjoyable first ski race of the season.
